about my work
My personal artistic work is driven by my values of community, access and inclusion, and compassion.
Community
Art thrives in dialogue with its community - its makers, but also its consumers. I make art that reflects and speaks to my community's present-day concerns, preoccupations, and joys, and I present these evenings in community venues. |
Access and Inclusion
My programming choices reflect my commitment to increasing representation of underperformed composers and composers of marginalized identities, with a firm grounding in anti-racist principles. I am also committed to making my concerts accessible to audience members with disabilities and keeping ticket prices affordable. |
Compassion
A priority in my day-to-day life is making choices that do not exploit our resources, fellow creatures, and communities. In my programming, I explore issues like feminism, LGBTQ+ experiences, and environmentalism with empathy, uncovering new perspectives for my audiences. |
